We feel good when we make someone else feel good. Making someone’s day can also make our day, but how exactly do we go about doing this? There are a number of ways you can make someone’s day.
One simple way is to be kind. Believe it or not, simply being nice to someone is a rarity some days. Saying good morning to someone, smiling at them, or giving them a hand when they need it is often enough to turn someone’s day around. A kind word is all it takes sometimes.
Volunteering to take on a task can be another way to make someone’s day. Sometimes, a single person in a company is given a large task. If you have the time, offering to help with the task can really make a person’s day. Even taking a small task off of their plate can be enough to relieve a lot of stress.
Another way to make someone’s day is to let them know that you appreciate something they’ve done for you. Give them a gift, send them flowers, or take them out to lunch. Even a simple “thank you” may be enough, although if they did a large favor for you, you should think about showing your appreciation with a gesture of some sort. Letting someone know that you really do recognize and appreciate their help can really make their day.
Want to really make someone’s day? While the things above are sure to do it, there’s one way to really show someone that they mean a lot to you. Show them you’re thinking of them by doing something nice for no reason. Nothing makes someone’s day more than having a bright bouquet of flowers delivered to their doorstep or office with a card that says something like, “just thinking of you.” Bring coffee to your co-workers. Surprise your significant other with lunch. All of these things are great ways to make someone’s day. All you have to do is be kind and you are sure to make someone’s day.
